Once installed, drag and drop the Basic Shapes effect to a clip or adjustment clip. In the Inspector open the Effects tab and select Fusion (if not already selected by default).

The Controls

Once a shape, Line, Arrow, Rectangle, Circle, Ellipse, Polygon or BSpline is selected the shape shown in the preview window and the   corresponding controls will be accessible.

Line length and Line Start Position allows both drawing animation (by key framing) and "opening" the shapes Rectangle, Circle, Ellipse, Polygon and BSpline.

Size scales the shape including the Line Thickness.

Invert inverts the shape line and image.

Solid fills the shape with the line color.

Border Style defines the corners style of the shape.

Cap Style define the end of the line.

Point to pivot While all other shapes rotate around their centre using the Angle control Arrow rotate around a "pivot point", by default the point of the arrow. The distance between point of the arrow and the pivot point can be increased.

Most other controls should be self-explanatory.

Note that not all controls are available for all shapes
.

All controls can be key framed.

To draw multiple shapes on the same clip the Basic Shapes effect need to be re-applied.

The illustration on top of this page is done with 7 instances of Basic Shapes on the same clip.

If the shape should only be visible during a part of the clip use key frames (Blend) or an adjustment clip.

For Polygon and BSpline the "Fusion Overlay" need to be activated in the preview window so that the sales can be manipulated with the mouse.

The view controls ("Show View Controls") can be turned off (or on) but will only disappear (or reappear) when the preview window is clicked. If the shape is changed from Polygon or BSpline to another shape the view controls will be remain visible until the preview window is clicked.
When using Polygon or BSpline a right mouse click in the preview window will open additional controls and drawing modes.

Insert and Modify will insert new handles/points when clicking on the line.

Modify Only will only allow moving handles/points.

Deselecting Closed will open the default shape
